Winifred “Winnie” Huff
Semi-retired partner Winnie Huff knows that family law matters hit clients at their core. Whether it’s their marriages, their children, their financial security, or some combination of these, what is at stake is fundamental to her clients’ well-being. During her tenure with predecessor Calabrese Huff, Winnie never lost sight of what really mattered to her clients and worked tenaciously to help them achieve their goals. Along with Carla Calabrese, Winnie built Calabrese Huff into a well-respected, top-notch family law firm that continues to deliver excellent legal services with the utmost care and concern for the emotional and financial welfare of its clients.
Winnie’s early legal training at large law firms Fulbright and Jaworski and Haynes and Boone laid the foundation for her attention to detail, analytical approach, and rigorous work ethic. Smart and savvy, Winnie recognizes that clients in family law matters are often in crisis and need the kind of seasoned, real-world advice that can only be attained through years of experience. Winnie trained many of Calabrese Budner’s current legal team drawing on her own big firm training and experience.
A lawyer for over 25 years, she has successfully represented clients in divorce, complex property division, premarital and post-marital agreements, termination and adoption proceedings, paternity matters and gestational and surrogacy arrangements. As a wife and mother of two grown children, Winnie also understands the emotional and financial complexities of family life.
Having seen the devastating impact that litigation can have on clients, their children, and their wallets, Winnie believes strongly in resolving familial conflicts without court intervention, but for some cases, the best option is the court. In those cases, Winnie trained her team to marshal all firm and outside resources needed to help her clients achieve a positive outcome.
Winnie is a sought after speaker and educator on family law. She is currently President of Collaborative Divorce Texas (CDT, 2017-2018).
